Desert Island

This Morning I finished on my Desert Island .

                                                           I hope you enjoy my story.

             Stranded on a Desert Island

Hey you do you want to hear a story of when I went to the desert island?

Here’s how it started.

I looked across at the beautiful island on the stunning, colourful, fresh sea.

I smelt the air with amazement, it smelt like freedom.

I discovered a lot of wood in the jungle so I built a raft with the wood and some rope. Then I started floating on the deep blue sea water.

I looked high up into the the heavens, the vault of heaven in the stunning, beautiful, blue sky.  

I finally arrived at my destination.

I jumped off the raft and I felt the soft and silky sand underneath my feet.

I shouted across and no one was there, I took everything out from my bag and it started to rain.

I built a little hut for myself and I took out my sleeping bag and my comfy, cosy pillow and laid them down.

I brought out my lantern and put it on the side of the sleeping bag and pillow.

I grabbed my bag and I went for a long hike.  

Then I ended in front of a sparkling waterfall!

AAAAAAAH it was amazingly beautiful. I saw some of the stunning, freshwater.

I grabbed my water bottle and went behind the waterfall it was such a clear view from behind the waterfall.

So like I said I grabbed my water bottle and then I opened the lid and I tipped out the water from the first time I became stranded on this Island.

So where was I oh I forgot. I filled my bottle up and then I took a big and long drink it tasted so amazing.

It was sparkling in my mouth. That was my most favourite part, when I drank that stunning and beautiful water from the waterfall.

This is what the island looked like.

So I went back to where I was camping for tonight and I slept soundly.

Cultural Festival 2016

On Saturday the 26th of November Owairaka Primary school performed at Rocket Park.

Lucy and the Hawaiian group got ready to smile on there way up to the stage.

Lucyanne and Fiona were dressed up to get ready for their Tongan dance.

Ridha, Hana and Leila got ready and dressed for the Irish dance group.

Today I have learned about these three people 1. Nikita 2. Liam malone 3. Sophie Pascoe and I chose Sophie Pascoe and I learned that the reason why Sophie Pascoe lost her leg was because of an accident. She had a accident from the lawnmower. Her leg got caught in the lawnmower.

Have you ever played in a Netball game before? Or have your parents sign you up to play Netball and you don’t know how to play?  That must be hard, here are some tips for you, if you need it. Hi my name is May and today I will be talking about Netball.

The reason why I like Netball because when I shoot and it goes in I feel so happy and it is fun, it is fun because I have got a chance to shoot and get the goals for my team. The tip is that you need to be confident you also need to be to believe in yourself, trust.

There is only 1 reason why I add in the word FUN: Because it make me happy and it also reminds me of the time when we went on a trip last year to MOTAT it was KA PAI.

There is also team work,  it is a team spirit game. You could use team work by standing in your positions and your team can pass you the ball. There can only be 7 players on the court. The winning tip is simple good team - work. The ability to score more goals than the other team by working together.

The Rules

Although 7 players to score the goals there will be two people standing in the circle surrounding the hoop. The 2 people standing in the circle is called GS- goal shoot, GA- goal Attack. The ball starts in the center. In the middle of the court there will be 2 people standing in the middle of the court to start the game.

The C-center can not pass the ball unless the referee has blown the whistle.  When the whistle is blown the C-center can pass the ball to one of her/his team mates.

The Game

Each player has a position in the court. If the c-center is going to pass you the ball you need to be ready so the ball can come towards you.

If the other team has the ball you need to be ready to defend the person at the left, right,. Behind or in the front. Mostly you have a partner to defend.

Now you know why I love playing Netball and you have an understanding of how the game is played. I want to be more like Maria Tutaia the best Netball player I know. Who do you want to be like? Watch a game and find out. Thank you for listening to my speech .

Olympics 2016

As you know, the Olympic Games have started over in Rio.  We will use this great festival of sport for our prompt this week.

It is:

…I could see the finish line, then…

Things to consider:

• Which sport is this?
• What might be going to happen?
• How do you feel?

I could see the finish line of defeat and then of of a sudden I felt the pump in my heart and the power in my body, cheering for me, myself and I to not give up.  At that moment I had this feeling inside my bones, it kinda goes electric and it kinda goes wavy and when I run I feel  really good. I was happy to be competing for my lovely country Samoa.

I don’t know if I can do this. Oh no, the other girls are going to beat me. This 5000m race is hurting my legs, we already done 9 laps but we need to do 3. As a ran  around the track I thought about all the hard training I did and tried to keep up with the leader.All od a sudden it was the last lap and I was sprinting like lightning then flash,  I WON! I feel so happy I had won a gold medal for Samoa, the first for this race. YESSSSS!  I did it. I won the gold medal yippie!
